After a few hours of driving through the plains of Nizhoni, Shadow finally found an ideal training spot for Amy and himself. While it had slightly less flora and fauna than Soleanna, it was still a wonder to behold. Shadow parked the Dark Rider just at the edge of a beaten trail, being sure to activate its new security mode after he and Amy got off.
"This will do," he said to Amy, "Follow me. We'll make camp first and then resume Phase 2 of your training." Amy said nothing, nodding at his words with a straight face. Shadow was now concerned for her, as she had been silent for most of the trip, but he decided that it was no concern of his for now and pressed onward.

Along the way, they had a close and unpleasant encounter with a native Mobian eagle named Careful Trailer. He was one of the best trackers of his tribe and could sense the hedgehogs’ unwanted presence from miles away. Before he and Shadow caused an irreversible incident, however, Amy quickly stopped the two, acting as a mediator between the two. While her words made little sense to him, Careful Trailer was awed by her beauty, which made him much more responsive to the visiting couple.
At the end of the ordeal, he told them of a large area often used by warrior tribes of old for training and tests of strength and will. It went completely unused these days, making it ideal for Shadow and Amy, as they would be infringing on no borders. After a final warning to Shadow not to cause trouble (which, of course, went ignored), they were given directions and sent on their way.

"Hm. The eagle spoke the truth," Shadow observed, "This is indeed ideal for us." Though the area certainly had the marks and scars of battle, nature was able to flourish with the passage of time, offering old, strong trees and other shading foliage, bountiful food and a reminder of a proud people's sacred land. It was here that the two made camp. It was a simple process as they'd gotten used to it by now.
"Now then," said Shadow, turning to Amy, who had yet to utter a single word to him since the ride, "I chose to bring some food with us for this first week out, but we should resume your training first." Amy kept her back to him and replied, "I agree. I've been itching for battle." Shadow made a face at that response, but continued, "Yes, well, if I recall, we were working on your Chaos Energy potential. You've learned to sense, feel and defend yourself against it, but you have yet to use it as your own. Your psychic abilities have grown tremendously, but that's not what we're here for." Amy just shrugged. "Yes, yes. Continue, Shadow."
If he could've frowned any harder, he would've. "The focus from here on will be to teach you how to manipulate Chaos Energy for yourself. To begin, let's make sure your bed rest hasn't made your battle skills dull." It was then that Amy glanced at him with a fierce, teal-glowing glare, clutched the green Chaos Emerald she still possessed and said, "Yes. Let's." The moment he saw that look in her eyes, Shadow crouched to rev up a Spin Dash, knowing that he'd have to make the first move. Before he could, though, he found himself surrounded by dozens of tree branches, all being manipulated by Psycho Kinesis. "Amy, I thought I said-"

The moment he saw that look in her eyes, Shadow crouched to rev up a Spin Dash, knowing that he'd have to make the first move. Before he could, though, he found himself surrounded by dozens of tree branches, all being manipulated by Psycho Kinesis. "Amy, I thought I said-"
Amy quickly interrupted him by sending nine branches his way, forcing him to use his Chaos Burst attack to deflect them. The moment the energy dispersed, Amy was lunging towards him with a reared fist. When he caught her punch, she growled, "I'm sorry, babe, I couldn't hear you over the sound of your butt about to be kicked." She then knocked Shadow a few meters with an energy burst of her own. While he didn't lose a whole lot of his rings from that sneak attack, he did lose his patience with her attitude, which he chose to adjust right then and there.
"If that's how it's going to be, fine! I won't be holding back!" he shouted. Bringing his katana to bear, he ran towards Amy, who was flying towards him (in every sense of the word) at a surprising speed – with even more branches and debris! He was so surprised by this that he barely had time to notice Amy slash the air before her with her Chaos Emerald, sending a wave of energy right at him!
Seeing little options at that particular moment, Shadow used Chaos Control to warp a few yards away to assess the situation. 'Damn it,' Shadow sourly thought as he knelt on a tree branch, watching Amy look around for him, 'This is getting annoying. Amy's angry and I have no idea why. Unlike before, however, she's not allowing her rage to hinder her abilities. She knows what I'm capable of, so she's going out of her way to overwhelm me, so I'm forced to endure her Chaos experimentation firsthand.'

Still, the Black Blur was undeterred as he contemplated a plan of attack and thought, 'Well, if she thinks I'm that easy to manipulate, she's sadly mistaken.' He didn't get to plan too far ahead before another voice invaded his thoughts. 'You're so adorable when on the defensive.' Turning his head quickly, he saw yet another tree branch, and he didn't have the chance to dodge this time. He dropped his blade once the thick, heavy branch hit his black, spiny head right on target, and Shadow was knocked clear into another section of the dense forest they were currently residing in.
Thankfully for him, while he was a bit dizzy, the Rings he still had protected him from any concussions that attack might have given him, but before he could even stand up his own katana came flying right at him, flanked by more branches! "Enough of this! CHAOS CONTROL!" Stopping time completely, he retrieved his katana and made short work of the weaponized tree bark sent at him. He then slapped Amy across the face before ending Chaos Control, standing right in front of Amy her with the same angry expression.
"All right, Rose," he said viciously, "I've had it up to here with your nonsense! We're not doing anything else until you tell me why you're so damn pissed off!" Amy responded, "I wouldn't take another step if I were you." Looking down to the ground, Shadow saw that he was just about to step on a green, ethereal looking spike. Turning his gaze to the left and right, he saw that, within moments, the immediate area surrounding them was covered in them! Shadow was shocked as he turned his Air Shoes back on and hovered above the danger, wondering how the hell Amy conjured all this.

"If you're pondering what's going on – and I know you are – I'll tell you," Amy said smugly as she stood up, rubbing her cheek, "This is a new technique I wanted to try out. I call them, 'Chaos Thorns'." To call Shadow surprised would be an understatement. "Impossible! How could you have mastered Chaos Energy already, and to this extent?!" Amy smirked as she answered him coyly, "Wellllll, most of it is PK, I admit." Shadow glared at her. "Using Psycho Kinesis as a go-between, are you?" When she nodded, he scoffed, "Hmph. Cute. But you'll need more creativity than that to beat me."
"I know," Amy said as a string of thorns shot out from the ground and tightly whipped around Shadow's left arm, making him unable to use his katana to cut himself free. Shortly after, three more strings shot forth and bound his remaining limbs, pulling him face up towards the sky and rendering him nearly immobile. He struggled to get free, but the instant he tried, the thorns tightened, expending his remaining rings. With a thin layer of Chaos Energy the only thing keeping them from piercing his body, Shadow was helpless. "Grrrr! You think this will stop me?!" he yelled angrily and prepared his Chaos Blast attack, but bound the way he was, Shadow did not see Amy leap from her location and onto his torso, feet first.
"GAAAAAHH!" Shadow was in so much pain from that attack that he lost his grip on his katana and very nearly dropped his protective energy cloak. He glared at her angrily as she sat upon him with a victorious smile, which got bigger as she straddled him and looked deep into his crimson red eyes. "Say it, Shadow." He knew what she meant, but his pride refused to allow him to comply. Amy knew this and bent closer to his face, tightening the thorns a little as she did so. "Say it, sweetie. You know I've earned it." He could not argue. He was bound, defenseless, and did not dare use his Chaos Blast attack with Amy on top of him. With clenched teeth and more than a little humiliation, he said, "You…you win, Amy."
She grinned as he said that. For the second time, she had defeated the Ultimate Lifeform. And, once again, she had him right where she wanted him…
Amy straddled him further and bent down to whisper, "How does it feel, Shadow? To be bound and helpless by your lover?" He wasn't about to give her the satisfaction of a vocal answer, so she read his thoughts. It felt like hell for him…which is what she was going for. "I can feel your shame, sweetie," Amy continued, swaying herself back and forth upon him. "It's a pity. Shadow the Hedgehog, defeated by Amy Rose. You certainly don't hear that often, do you?"
Shadow spat, "Enough, Rose. You've made your point." Amy shook her head as she swung a bit harder on him. "No, I don't believe I have. This is something that I want you to remember…for a long…long time…" Shadow just rolled his eyes in misery, wondering when this was going to end, until something happened. Amy started kissing him, and fiercely. Coupled with the way he was bound and the way she was now starting to breathe, he realized that this wasn't just a twisted lesson in humility.
Shadow's eyes widened as his body began to…react from this. "Amy…" he bewilderingly asked in between kissing, "…why the hell are you grinding on my lap?" She answered in labored breaths, "Take a *moan* wild guess…" He couldn't believe it. That was her ulterior motive. "Amy," he grunted, "now is hardly the time for this…" She just growled in pleasure, "That didn't stop you in Soleanna, did it?"
He nearly choked on her tongue. "That's what this *grunt* is all about?!" Amy tore her lips away and smacked her hips upon his own in angry arousal. "Shut up! You pleasured me…in front of our friends! You…you actually made me…" The memory, though fueling her arousal, was also too mortifying to speak of completely.
"Damn it, Amy, I had no choice," Shadow defended in heavy breaths of his own, "I had to do something, or you would've destroyed the entire hospital!" She just smacked their hips again. "You had other options and you know it…!" Even in their hormonal state, Shadow could tell that there would be no reasoning with this young woman, which was one thing about her that would probably never change. She wasn't going to listen, especially when they were both so close.
"Now, baby…" Amy shouted, "it's…it's your turn…to...!" At that moment, Shadow felt the Chaos Thorns' grip on him weaken and he smirked. After all, only his limbs were bound. "Not this day, Miss Rose." Quickly, he swung his forehead into hers, knocking Amy off him.
"CHAOS CONTROL!" Freezing space-time once more, he tossed the thorns off of him and rescued Amy from falling into her own trap, Jump Dashing to a safe distance and plopping her onto the ground. Then, returning to the center where he previously was, he ended the technique and unleashed another. "CHAOS BLAST!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just like that, it was done. The Chaos Thorns were destroyed and both Shadow and Amy looked at each other from across their grounds. "Damn it, Shadow! That's not fair!" Shadow merely folded his arms and scoffed, as usual. "Hmph. Life isn't fair, Amy. You should know that by now." She glared at him, too angry to form a retort and too pent up to attempt any more attacks, PK or not. Plus, her headache wasn't helping.
"Nevertheless, you did beat me…again. That I cannot dispute. So…"
"So what?!"
Shadow sighed, preparing himself for another action he was not used to. "I…apologize for your humiliation in Soleanna, Amy. It was wrong of me, and I am sorry." Amy's glare softened a little, as she could tell his apology was sincere. "Thank you, Shadow, but don't think I'll forgive you just yet. You're going to have to earn that." He cocked an eyebrow at that, despite his understanding. "Is that so? Well then, I shall do my best. And for what it's worth, I'm proud of your progress."
"Mm. Thanks." Hearing praise was always good, but it wasn't enough. Shadow, of course, noticed this. "What's the matter? Still not…satisfied?" Amy's spines started to wave in frustration. That, to him, was a cue to change topics. Still…
"Then you should know something." Amy pouted and bitterly asked, "What, you jerk?" He warped directly next to her and whispered, "I'm not satisfied, either." With that, he warped away, presumably back to camp. Amy sat down on the ground, irritated. This was the nth time he had left her in this state. She was profoundly upset. And yet, Shadow's final words rang in her ears. She started grinning again as it began to click. It wasn't just a statement. It was a challenge.
"Ok then, Shadow the Hedgehog," Amy whispered to herself, "Challenge accepted…"
