About
Around 6 years ago, I challenged myself to write a script involving Amy Rose and Shadow the Hedgehog and shared it with a good friend of mine, who liked it. Over time, it turned into a 30 chapter epic, and within this time frame, the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise had taken a HARD RIGHT through Albuquerque. The elitists were getting pandered to more and more, Lost World wound up being a "subtle" Mario clone, and the less said about Sonic Boom, the better.
The Sonic brand was losing its identity, from what I could see, and needed a bold new direction, one that reminded people what Sonic is meant to be: cool, quick, epic, and above all, ballsy. I didn't see this happening with the current path, so I figured I could give an example of what could be possible.
This project is set to do just that, with art, stories and (in the future) games that bring out the full potential of the Sonic cast and the world they live in. The goal is to show the public (and possibly even SEGA themselves) that Sonic is capable of evolving in the right way. You just have to be willing to put your nose to grindstone and try, not being afraid to take chances in order to do what must be done.
I'm not presumptuous enough to claim that my vision is the only road that can be taken. All I'm saying is that the Sonic franchise needs to charge forward...somehow. I can only hope that my example sets some kind of precedence and gets the right gears turning.
